A comprehensive Cost of Services Study has been conducted to review fees and charges associated with services provided by the Water Department. It is important that this type of review be done periodically to ensure that the Department adequately recovers the costs of the services it provides and protects the ratepayer by staying current and limiting ratepayer subsidy.
It is important to note that this is not a proposed increase to your water or sewer service rates. It is a review and update of the Department’s general services fee schedule. Some of the services included in the study are service requests processing, water infrastructure installations (meters, hydrants, etc.), wastewater pretreatment program, and backflow device program.
A public hearing has been continued to March 10, 2020, at 9:30 a.m. in the Water Boardroom at 399 E. Chandler Place, San Bernardino, CA to receive comments and to consider adoption of an updated fee schedule.
