Scam Alert and COVID-19 Updates
July 24, 2020 - The City of San Bernardino Municipal Water Department (SBMWD) has been made aware of fraudulent phone calls to our customers. We believe the fraudulent calls and messages are attempts to obtain financial or private identification information from customers.
SBMWD does not contact its customers to ask for financial information, and there is no indication that any customer information held by SBMWD has been compromised in any way. Should you doubt the authenticity of any contact made by SBMWD, please disconnect the call immediately and call our Customer Service line at (909) 384-5095.
Telephone scams have become a common threat to utilities. Please protect yourself by never providing confidential information such as user IDs, passwords, Social Security numbers, credit/debit card numbers, PINs, or account information to unsolicited callers.
