Payment by Credit Card
San Bernardino Municipal Water Department (SBMWD) has partnered with ACI Payments Inc.® to offer payment of Water Utility Bills over the Internet or by telephone. There is a $2.95 processing fee for each transaction.
If you are a new customer attempting to make a Deposit payment online, visit the ACI Payments Inc. Website. Be sure to select the Utility Deposit payment option. You can also call 1-877-238-6048 to pay over the phone.

Automatic Bill Payment
Pay your monthly water bill automatically for free with the San Bernardino Municipal Water Department's Automatic Bill Payment program. Continue to receive a monthly paper statement showing your water usage and the current charges the department will debit from the checking or savings account on file. Payments are deducted approximately 19 days after the billing date.
It may take up to a month for Automatic Bill Payment to activate. Please continue to make payments until “Auto-Pay Do Not Pay” is displayed on your next bill. Proof of payment will appear on your bank statement and on your next billing statement. Sign up online at the SBMWD Online eBiller
Available to All Residents
Auto Pay / Bank Drafting is open to all residential and selected business accounts billed by the City of San Bernardino Municipal Water Department. Your account must be in good standing and not subject to other existing payment arrangements, with a history of no more than one returned check within the last 12 consecutive months.
Customers can make payments online or by phone.
Beginning Tuesday, May 11, 2021, the SBMWD customer service lobby will re-open to the public.
In order to protect the health and safety of the public and employees, CDC and State guidelines will be followed including the use of face masks, social distancing, and limiting the number of people in the lobby at any given time. To avoid long lines and minimize wait times, online or phone payment options are available as well as a payment drop box located on the south side of the Customer Service building.
The Customer Service lobby hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Thank you for your patience and understanding. The Customer Service call center is available to assist you by phone at (909) 384-5095 during normal business hours.
Please note we do not accept credit/debit card payments in our office. You can pay with Cash, Cashier’s Check, Check or Money Order.
After-Hours Payment Depository
There is an after-hours payment depository box located near the south side of the Customer Service building.
Payments made after 7:00 AM via the after-hours depository will be processed the next business day.
